(PLEASE CLICK ON UNDERLINED, BOLD, BLUE WORDS FOR VIDEO & AUDIO DESCRIPTIONS) …bordering the beautiful Boreal Forest of Northeast Saskatchewan Since 1993, Torch Valley Country Retreats has offered guests world wide the best in farm vacation hospitality – year round – in a secure unique “wilderness” setting. Guests enjoy the peace and quiet of beautiful log cabin accommodation on the edge of the Canadian Boreal Forest. They’ve told us our authentic log cabins make them feel safe at home in the wilderness. They feel “cared for” and pampered. What makes Torch Valley Country Retreats so unique and special? Our guests have told us in many different ways! It is a place to stop, to rest, to reconnect…with each other and the natural world. Whatever the season, whatever the weather, they can enjoy the private surroundings of their own cabin, just a short distance from the Torch River. Photographers and naturalists appreciate the diversity of flora and fauna close to home. They are able to step from boreal forest to the parkland ecosystem in this transition zone. The location is remarkable. Our 2080-acre property is situated on the edge of the Boreal Forest in northeast Saskatchewan. There are no paved or grid roads northeast of us! The Torch River flows through the property and offers spectacular wildlife viewing! Fifteen km of groomed trails – for hiking or skiing – wind through the Torch River Valley, through the forest and parkland, and along the open fields. The pasture on the southern border has been a working stock farm and has been in the Lidster family almost 80 years. This wilderness resort is very accessible year round. It is just 3 hours drive from the city of Saskatoon and one of Saskatchewan’s two International airports. It is 4 hours from Saskatchewan’s capital city, Regina. Nipawin, a full service community with a municipal airport, is a half hour away. There is major paved highway access – routes 35 and 55 from the south and west – and there is 10 km of well maintained grid gravel road to access the property. The grid road ends here – we have no traffic, no traffic noise…no city or town streetlights. Assets Land 13 quarter sections or 2,080 acres total (9 quarters privately owned and 4 quarters leased from Sask Ag and Food)
